Age at Injury

C  Spinal cord injuries affect young adults the most with over 60% of all injuries occurring to those between the ages of 16-30.  While elderly people have historically only comprised a small percentage of those affected with spinal cord injuries, this age group has seen a dramatic increase over the last ten years primarily due to the increase of the median age of the general population.
